Flights Affected While Aircraft Parts Delayed

Air Vanuatu has announced flight disruptions for two of the international flights for today Tuesday 5th of December. This has been caused by delays in international shipping of parts that are required to perform scheduled work on the Boeing 737. Required parts that were ordered and scheduled to be delivered into Australia to allow this work to be undertaken, have been delayed at least 24 hours.

Currently, the two flights affected include Brisbane to Port Vila and Port Vila to Nadi flights today. Air Vanuatu has begun contacting all affected guests and in line with policy, Air Vanuatu is covering the cost of accommodation and meals for those guests whose flights are affected.

Partner airlines have been contacted to request support should the disruption extend beyond this 24 hour period. Further details will be released as soon as possible.

Some Santo and Tanna domestic flights have also been on standby since late Monday evening with the ATR currently undergoing checks on the air condition systems. It is anticipated that ATR services may likely resume during today.

The airline has stated that they will quickly resume flights when all required engineering work and checks are completed and has made statements to assure industry partners that they are focused on getting all guests back in the air and safely returned to their destinations.
