Recruitment For The Position Of Stores Person
Applicants are invited for the position of Stores Person for Air Vanuatu (Operations) Limited within the engineering team.
The position will be based in Port Vila .The position will report directly to the Stores Manager.
Primary Objective: Support the Stores Manager for maintaining the accurate record of the parts/materials that required restocking.
Key Responsibilities
- Completion of Purchase Order Proposal forms when level reaches order point.
- Ensuring counter is manned at all times during working hours.
- Ensuring the Store areas are restricted to authorised personnel only
- Ensure documentation for receipt /dispatch is correct and complete
- Ensure parts received are from approved suppliers with accompanying approved documentation
- Ensure parts for dispatch are properly packaged and addressed only to approved/appropriate vendor. Ensure rotables are shipped for repair/OH by any date set by the chief engineer.
- All tasks are carried out in accordance with the MOE.
- Ensure tools issued are recorded against the aircraft, work pack number, and person requesting the tool/s is completed with every issue / return.
- All tools are back in Stores at the end of the aircraft check and reconciled against the company tool listing in AMS and prior to the final release to service. Any shortfalls are immediately notified to the hangar foreman, chief engineer and quality and safety manager.
- Ensure tools requiring calibration are sent for calibration before the due dates to the approved service providers. Retain calibration certificates and records on file for the duration of the calibration period
- Responsible for management and restocking of the DG and commercial Stores
- Updating of AMS, monitoring Shelf Life Components, discarding expired shelf life items and regulated usage
- Ensure storage conditions of all components are according to the requirements in this MOE and OEM recommendations, and periodically checking the integrity of packaging material of components stored.
- Ensure punctuality for shift start.
- Ensuring the store is kept in a clean and tidy condition.
- Participating efficiently in rolling or full stock takes.
Selection Criteria:
- Year 13 leaving certificate
- Should have at least 1 year experience in aviation stores or similar experience involving stock taking/ and stock keeping / ordering
- Knowledgeable and experience in use of stock take sheets and record forms
- Valid Driver’s license may be required, with proven record of no traffic violations or incidents
Computer skills with experience in Microsoft applications especially excel
- Be able to work with minimal supervision
- Be capable to follow instructions accurately

- Have the ability to listen, learn and progress
- Flexibility to work shift hours or whatever hours deemed necessary to ensure all preparation /loading/clearance and stock take are complete on time
- Ability to work in a logical and structured manner,
- Excellent record keeping skills and a disciplined approach to data management
