Carriage of Apple MacBook Pro (Retina 15-Inch) Ban
In June Apple recalled certain models of MacBook Pro made between 2015 – 2017. The MacBook Pros were recalled over fears the batteries were not safe and may explode. US airlines banned them from passengers' checked-in luggage in early August.
Airlines operating in Australia have followed suit with the same rule.
As safety is Air Vanuatu’s top priority, effective immediately - Air Vanuatu has implemented the following guideline for customers travelling with their MacBook Pro.
Customers travelling on any Air Vanuatu operated service can no longer carry their MacBook laptop in their checked-in luggage due to the risk of fire.
Customers must comply with the following:
- Laptops can only be carried as part of your carry-on luggage
- The MacBook Pro laptop must be turned off for the entire journey
- You cannot use the laptop in flight and it must remain turned off for the duration of your flight
If you have any further questions, please consult the Apple Mac website or contact Air Vanuatu.
