Air Vanuatu (Operations) Limited, invites applications for the following positions which are located at Bauerfield Airport Port Vila, Vanuatu.These positions will require experienced and dedicated people who will support the Chief Executive Officer in the management of the national airline.  Interested applicants must meet specific requirements outlined on respective Job Profiles. Position 18:   CHIEF ENGINEER

The Chief Engineer reports to the General Manager Operations.  The successful person must be approved by CAAV as the person responsible for control and direction of maintenance and activity conducted under the Air Vanuatu Part 145 Certificate.  The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that Air Vanuatu Engineering provides a safe, efficient and effective maintenance service in accordance with this Part 145 Maintenance Organisation Exposition and Overall management of the organisation, including strategic planning and direction.  Other responsibilities include continued compliance with Civil Aviation Rule requirements and ensuring regulatory approvals remain valid and encouraging team building as well as just culture within the AMO.


The Maintenance Controller reports to the General Manager Operations and is the authorized officer who is approved by CAAV that exercises the functions of control and direction of maintenance as stated in CAR 119.51(b)(iii).  The person will be responsible for the management of safety risks in maintenance operations and the management of Maintenance Control within the airline. 


The Manager Ground Operations reports to the General Manager Operations and is responsible for the control and direction of ground handling activities at Bauerfield Airport (Domestic & International Terminals) and other domestic airports.  The person will be responsible for ensuring daily ground handling operations are conducted in line with company policies and procedures as well as developing an achievement focused team that is customer service and on-time performance oriented.  The successful person must meet CAAV FPP requirements and Part 119 Senior Person requirements for Ground Support.


The Operations Coordination Centre Manager reports to the Manager Flight Operations and is accountable for a wide scope of key tasks which include  managing and monitoring the company's schedule to ensure effective operation of the Daily Schedule and ensuring disruptions are managed in the safest and most cost effective manner to maintain operational integrity and customer satisfaction.  The person will also be responsible for ensuring that OCC staff are trained in using Casper System and have working knowledge of the Regulatory and Flight and Duty Limitations regarding crew duty time.  This key role is also responsible for ensuring that the operating schedule is monitored, maintained and recovery plans are put in place to minimise disruption to passengers. 


The Cabin Services Manager reports to the Manager Flight Operations and is responsible for a wide range of duties in the Cabin Service Department, including leading, managing, coaching and inspiring the Cabin Service team to create a high performance culture that ensures the consistent delivery of world-class service.  The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all safety, security, compliance and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, clients and regulatory authorities and will be answerable to all issues onboard in regards to customer service and safety.

Position 23:   CARGO MANAGER

The Cargo Manager reports to the General Manager Operations and is responsible for the operations of Air Cargo both internationally and domestically and must ensure Cargo Service processes are in accordance with ICAO / CAAV / IATA standards and recommended practices.  The responsible person will be required to effectively and efficiently interact with a range of internal stakeholders plus customers and statutory authorities.  He/She must hold a current Customs Broker's Agent Licence, a current Certificate in Cat.6 for IATA Dangerous Goods and must be knowledgeable in ICAO Aviation Standards.


The Audit Programme & Security Coordinator reports to the General Manager Quality, Safety & Security Systems and directly to the CEO, when required, and is responsible for the administration, implementation, maintenance and day-to-day administration of the security program to ensure compliance with the requirements of the CAAV security program, applicable requirements of other states where operations are conducted (Australia, New Zealand) and providing assurance and accountability to the GMQSSS in the management of operational risk, through the effective use of data systems and analysis.  The responsible person must meet the FPP requirements under Part 119 as a nominated Senior Person.



The Occurrence Investigation Coordinator reports to the General Manager Quality, Safety & Security Systems and is the Senior Person accepted under Part 119 for conducting investigations in accordance with Part 12.  The person is responsible for a range of duties including conducting occurrence investigations to identify causal factors and implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce the risk of negative safety, security and environmental outcomes and that notification of incidents and accidents conforms to company requirements and CAAV Rules.
