Fly Direct from Brisbane to Espiritu Santo

The National Airline, Air Vanuatu, launched direct weekly flights between Brisbane Australia and Espiritu Santo Island in early June. Air Vanuatu has capacity to fly close to 300 guests on this route each week. The flight has also provided much needed access to carry extra cargo between Australia and Vanuatu.

Apart from the capital city of Port Vila, Espiritu Santo is the only other international airport in Vanuatu that currently has immigration services which is one of the necessary services airports must have to allow international guests to arrive directly from overseas.

The arrival of more guests to Espiritu Santo is expected to contribute to the whole economy by providing more work for tour operators, dive operators, handicraft vendors and restaurants, as the guests not only stay in hotels but also enjoy the adventure activities available in Sanma. It also provides easy access for people living in Espiritu Santo to access Australia for trade, holidays and other reasons.

This flight is one of those now possible due to the new operating relationship Air Vanuatu has implemented with its pacific partner Solomon Airlines. Air Vanuatu is contracting the Solomon Airlines plane and crew to fly for them to operate the additional flights. Guests wanting to book can do so directly on www.airvanuatu.com.

The bookings on this new route have been strong during the current school holiday period and the airline hopes that with continued promotion, Espiritu Santo will become a favorite pacific destination for guest direct from Queensland, Australia.
