Applications are invited for the following positions within Air Vanuatu (Operations) Limited. These positions are based at Air Vanuatu Head Office, Port Vila Airport. The positions have an extreme level of responsibilities in providing necessary technical oversight in the daily operation and management of the airline. The successful candidates will be part of the dynamic team ensuring respective business functions and maintaining the airline’s core values of Safety, Efficiency, Quality and Service.

1.    Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) Structural and Airframe

The position will report directly to the Chief Engineer and will be responsible for the maintenance of the following Aircraft Fleet types:

  • ATR72-600 series
  • Twin Otter DHC6-300
  • Britten Norman Islander or BN2

Preferred Selection Criteria

  • Holder and current qualification from a recognized ICAO regulatory authority or equivalent ICAO Type 2 License on any 2 of the above aircraft including 1 Part 121 aircraft
  • Have held the above type ratings, for more than five (5)
  • Type rating on all or most of the above listed aircraft would be desirable.
  • Provide mentoring, guidance, direction and up skill the National engineers to attain the required skill, work experience and quality standards of aircraft maintenance.
  • Availability to work a five-six days a week - twenty-four (24) hour rotational shift roster.
  • Must be able to provide Police Clearance and a Medical Report declaring fit for all duties.

2.    Licensed Aircraft Engineer (LAME) Avionics

The position will report directly to the Chief Engineer and will be responsible for the maintenance of the following Aircraft Fleet types:

  • ATR72-600 series

Key Responsibilities of a LAME:

  • Ensure compliance with maintenance practices, inspection methods/techniques as per Organization Exposition, the Operator’s Maintenance Manual, the Original Equipment Manufacturers (EOM) Instruction for continuing Airworthiness (ICA), and the CAAV Rule Part43.
  • Any mandatory inspections called up are performed in accordance with the mandatory inspection and supporting documents.
  • Defects are rectified or deferred in accordance with the procedures described in the companies Maintenance Organization Exposition (MOE) and the Operators’ Maintenance Manuals.
  • Effective direct supervision of maintenance personnel ensuring safety and timely completion.
  • Responsible for training and development of all personnel and a team of qualified and competent team to perform the maintenance functions.
  • Ensure clear and complete instruction performance of work.
  • Providing technical guidance to other maintenance personnel.
  • Reporting process deficiencies to the supervisor and QSM.
