Success for Ni Vanuatu Chefs at the New Zealand Culinary Fare
Lead by Air Vanuatu’s Executive Chef, a team of local Ni Vanuatu Chefs have done us all proud at the biggest hot cooking competition in the Southern Hemisphere, the New Zealand Culinary Fare. The local chefs competed in a tough environment, against a wide field of experienced chefs, so to have come home with bronze and silver medals is a fantastic achievement!
The team worked hard getting competition ready with the help of David Holliday, Executive Chef of Air Vanuatu, who said of the team’s success, “we are all extremely pleased with the results, the team have put in a lot of work to write their recipes and perfect their dishes and the team have represented Vanuatu well, they are getting better every year”.
The results for the National Team competing in New Zealand are:
Mayline Dan Chantillys on the Bay Silver Medal Fish and Seafood Class
Roselyn George Iririki Island Resort Silver Medal Prawn Class
Bill Leonardo Holiday Inn Resort Bronze Medal Fish and Seafood Class
Alick Niavi Iririki Island Resort Silver Medal Fish and Seafood Class
Alick Niavi Iririki Island Resort Bronze Medal Salmon Class
Dickson Enoch La Tentation Restaurant Bronze Medal Salmon Class
Chris Bulememe Sunset Bungalows Merit Pork Class
Congratulations to the Team, and to David Holliday from Air Vanuatu! We’re all looking forward to hearing more great things from this group of talented Ni Vanuatu chefs in the future.
