Hold on Tight! – Vanuatu for Adrenaline Junkies
For some, serene beaches, crystal clear blue waters, and scenic views just don’t cut it, but adrenaline junkies needn’t fear! In Vanuatu, there’s always something on offer to get your blood pumping. From flying above the ocean in a parasail harness, to abseiling down cascading waterfalls, to soaring through the jungle on a zip line, those seeking a thrill will not be disappointed.
If seeing the Port Villa harbour from 75 meters above the ground sounds like fun to you, then parasailing is the way to go! As you soar horizontally over the ocean you’ll experience stunning views and thrilling heights you’re unlikely to ever forget. You can even take your camera up to get some stunning shots, perfect for making your work mates jealous, but make sure you strap it on tight!
Racing through the jungle at high speed is certainly not for the faint hearted! If you’re a thrill seeker then check out the Jungle zip lines on Efate Island. Prepare yourself for extreme exhilaration as you zip from platform to platform among the treetops of the lush Vanuatu jungle! You can even take a fast paced helicopter ride down through a jungle canyon to reach zip line platforms.
From June 1st, 2014, a new addition to Vanuatu Jungle Zip Line, ‘The Big Zip Trek’ will be officially open! With more trekking, and longer zip lines, the Big Zip Trek looks set to become a daredevil’s paradise! The new course will include 7 long zip lines traversing back and forth across ravines and canyons. When this new attraction opens visitors can surely expect the adrenaline rush of a lifetime!
If flying high isn’t for you, then perhaps abseiling will provide the physical and mental challenge you seek. Grab your opportunity to abseil down the Mele Cascades on Efate Island, exploring as you go. After a practice abseil, and an exhilarating climb to the top of the cascades, feel the rush of the waterfall as you make your way down this spectacular 8-meter cliff. Once you finish your descent you’re rewarded with the bright blue waters of the swimming hole at the base of the falls. There really is nothing like it!
All in all, whether you’re looking for thrills high in the sky, racing through the treetops, or from the top of a waterfall, there’s no shortage of activities to satisfy adrenaline junkies. Just remember, hold on tight!
