Domestic Baggage

Baggage Allowance

Children travelling domestically are entitled to the same baggage allowance as above. Infants are entitled to 5kg for checked-in luggage.

If travelling with friends or relatives you can all pool your baggage allowance together and will all need to check-in together at the airport.

 

Ensure that your baggage is clearly labelled with your name both inside and outside your baggage.


Excess Baggage

Excess baggage charges will apply when a traveller's checked-in baggage exceeds the free allowance set fourth by Air Vanuatu.

If your checked-in baggage exceeds you baggage allowance you will be charged for excess baggage at the following rate:
 


 

If you are travelling with excess baggage, please remember to allow sufficient time to complete the necessary formalities at check-in and also remember your excess baggage will be carried subject to space availability on your flight.

Unaccompanied Baggage

A cheaper alternative to paying for excess luggage is to send your luggage as unaccompanied luggage.

Unaccompanied luggage must only contain personal effects (excluding valuables) and may not necessarily travel on the same aircraft as the passenger.

A reminder that in the interest of safety and security certain goods classed as
Dangerous Goods must not be carried in your checked baggage or as carry on baggage.

Please contact Air Vanuatu Cargo or an Air Vanuatu authorised Cargo Agent to discuss sending any of your belongings as unaccompanied baggage at least three days prior to your departure. Charges will apply.
